Description:  In this beginning pottery class, students will be introduced to a variety of hand-building techniques as they progress from simple projects to more complex pieces that combine multiple methods of working in clay. Projects will include: pinch pots, designing a "maker's mark" for stamping clay, a decorative wall hanging, exploring the use of contrasting colors of clay, a coil built vessel and a hand-built mug. Students will have an opportunity to glaze at least one piece. Some of all of the pieces will be fired, in accordance with the instructor's best judgement.
